Revenue Service seizes record: EUR 400,000 worth of hashish on Latvian-Russian border

Print versionOn September 2, the State Revenue Service officers seized EUR 400,000 (LVL 280,000) worth of hashish on the Latvian-Russian border. The record-large amount of hashish, 80 kilograms, was found in a car at the Grebneva border crossing.

The State Revenue Service's Public Relations Department informed LETA that the drugs were found in an "Audi" automobile, driven by Russian citizen Mikhail B., born in 1977.
The car had a hidden compartment
behind its back seat with 152 packages of hashish.
The State Revenue Service's Customs Administration has launched a criminal
process on transport of illegal substances across the Latvian border.
