The Saaremaa county newspaper Saarte Hääl writes that low-cost carrier Flybe may be considering opening regular flights between Stockholm and Saaremaa island capital Kuressaare, informs LETA.

After entering the Northern and Baltic States market in 2011, Flybe has constantly indicated its wish to expand the routes network in the region. The company says that they are constantly evaluating different possibilities and have ascertained by now destinations that are of interest to them, of which Kuressaare is certainly one.

Flybe's sales manager in Scandinavia and Baltic States Erik Lindholm said that they are very much excited about the possibilities of expanding activities in Estonia. "Flybe remains true to Estonia and is actively working with local community centres and tourism organisations in the name of soon revealing new possibilities," said Lindholm.

Flybe operates in Estonia already the Tallinn-Stockholm route and Tartu-Helsinki route.
