The 12 million euros is the third instalment of a credit approved earlier. Since 2009, Estonian Air has received assistance from the state on several occasions, a total of 57 million euros worth.
The European Commission is analysing the legality of state aid granted to Estonian Air.
A negative decision would put the airline in a very difficult situation. At the same time in late October it emerged that Estonian Air could be sold to Infortar, the largest shareholder of Tallink, and the state believes that it significantly increases the likelihood of a positive decision.
