The Assessment of the LVM Round Timber Assortment Sales Process Confirms Its Economic Justification and Compliance with Legal Acts
21.12.2020The Supervisory Board of JSC “Latvia’s State Forests” (LVM) has concluded a comprehensive evaluation of the round timber assortment sales process. Based on compliance, financial, economic and legal examination performed by independent experts, the Supervisory Board concludes that the process of selling round timber assortments organized by LVM complies with the requirements of legislation and internal regulations, as well as has been economically justified, providing the company with an additional profit of 14.5 million euros during the period between 2016 and 2020.

Latvian exports of forestry products down 7.3% in 9 months, imports down 3.2%
17.11.2020In the first nine months of 2020, Latvia exported EUR 1.87billion worth of forestry products, which is 7.3% less than in the same period a year ago, writes LETA, according to information released by the Agriculture Ministry.
Almost 6 000 students and teachers have taken part in LVM forest expeditions this autumn
Taking the opportunity to learn about forest in nature, 5 841 students and teachers from 279 class groups went on study hikes or expeditions in Latvia’s state forests specially prepared by JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM) in September. For the fifth year in a row, expeditions for 6th grades took place in eight regions near the largest cities of Latvia. Students were welcomed in nature and there were 111 experienced LVM employees who perform planning, logging, tending and other works on a daily basis to introduce the students to the tasks and challenges in forest.
Latvian brand top: LVM receives three awards
The most popular brands according to the public rating both in the Baltics and Latvia were honoured at the Latvian Brand Top awards ceremony. This year, JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM) received the highest score in three categories: the greenest brand, the most humane brand and the employer's brand.
