Pavluts also said that tourism offered excellent opportunities for both countries' cooperation. According to statistical data, Israeli travelers' interest in Latvia is increasing steadily; last year Israel was one of 20 largest incoming tourist markets serviced by Latvian businessmen, writes LETA.
Latvia has achieved very much, and continues work to make its business environment more attractive and friendlier to business. The fiscal situation in Latvia has stabilized, and now the main emphasis is on economic development. The government continues work on the national industrial policy, which will offer a clear vision of Latvia's economic development goals and government aid for successful development of various industries, said Pavluts.
Landau also stressed that the cooperation with Latvia had great potential for Israel, mentioning IT, various equipment production and tourism as the main areas of cooperation. Israel is planning to develop IT incubators in Latvia this year, and incubators in other industries could be established in the future.
During the meeting, the ministers agreed on experience exchange in energy efficiency matters, which are important for improvement of competitiveness as they help reduce energy consumption by households, transport and the industrial sector.
