The Lembergs and Lipmans families are the richest in Latvia, the business portal Nozare.lv was informed by "Baltic Screen", creators of the list of the country's richest inhabitants. On Friday, November 5, the new "Golden One Hundred" list of the country's wealthiest 100 people will be published in the magazine "VIP Lounge".

The list is compiled from information on publicly available databases, including the Land Book and the Register of Enterprises. The crisis has had a significant affect on the list, with earnings reduced and almost a fifth of last year's "Golden One Hundred" no longer on the list, writes LETA.

The combined wealth of the country's 100 richest people has fallen by LVL 220 million since last year's survey, while in two years the figure has fallen from LVL 3.17 billion to LVL 1.8 billion.

First place is held by the Lembergs family – Ventspils mayor Aivars and his children Anrijs and Liga – who are worth LVL 180 million in total. They are followed by Latvian Hockey Federation President Kirovs Lipmans and his wife Anna – LVL 54 million, metallurgical company Liepajas metalurgs shareholder Sergejs Zaharjins – LVL 53 million, and Rietumu banka council chairman Leonids Esterkins – LVL 53 million.

The family of ex-premier and For a Good Latvia politician Andris Skele has jumped from 27th to fifth place, with assets worth LVL 52 million. Also in the top ten are Justs Karlsons – LVL 41 million, Arnis Riekstins – LVL 38 million, Guntis Ravis – LVL 34 million, Vadims Telica – LVL 34 million, and Josifs Apts – LVL 32 million.
