Estonian women are the slimmest in Europe

Print versionAccording to the World Health Organisation (WHO), the lowest median average body mass index (BMI) in Europe is that for Estonian women, as in 2010 it was 23.5, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

The highest BMI was displayed by women in Malta whose BMI was 28.3.
The heaviest men were in Greece as their average BMI was 28. Estonian men had average BMI of 25.1.
The heaviest men in Europe (aged 15-100):
1 Greece;
2 Malta;
3 Great Britain;
4 Germany;
5 Finland.
The heaviest women in Europe (aged 15-100):
1 Malta;
2 Belarus;
3 Turkey;
4 Andorra;
5 Monaco.
The reports included 52 states.
