The surveyed investors said that transit and logistics, as well as wood processing and green technologies had the best prospects. At the same time, they noted that there was no vision of which sectors Latvia itself wished to develop, writes LETA.
Open market, resources unavailable elsewhere (for instance, land, wood, low labor costs), developed business culture and European mentality are mentioned as Latvia's advantages in the study.
On the other hand, excessive bureaucracy, non-existent long-term political strategy, lack of quality labor and poor communication of the state image are mentioned as the disadvantages.
The study will be presented at Swedbank head office in Riga on December 1.
The presentation will be followed by a debate, in which Swedbank board member Daniils Rulovs, Swedbank chief economist Martins Kazaks, Investment and Develompent Agency Director Andris Ozols, investment consulting company Actus! CEO Eva Branta-Nellemane, venture capital fund BaltCap partner Dagnis Dreimanis and Valmiermuizas alus brewery owner Aigars Rungis will participate.
