In the meeting Grybauskaite and the LPK president have discussed Lithuania's current affairs, the economic situation in the European Union (EU) and its impact on the economy of Lithuania, writes LETA/ELTA.

According to Grybauskaite, the economic situation is difficult both worldwide and in Europe.

Lithuania may be significantly impacted by the deteriorating economic situation in Europe, therefore, Grybauskaite pointed out that the input of country's industrialists is vital in order to mitigate the potential adverse impact on the economy.

"We have to behave responsibly. Disciplined financial management must go hand in hand with economic growth. The industry has a serious role in strengthening of country's economy, creating new jobs, finding new markets and securing competitiveness," said Grybauskaite.
