Latvian transport companies’ value increases in 2013, banking – on decrease

Transport companies and fuel traders are the leaders among Latvia's 101 most valuable companies this year in terms of growth; on the other hand, several banks and wood industry companies' value has decreased as compared with 2012, informs LETA/Nozare.lv.

This information in according to the list of Latvia's 101 most valuable companies compiled by the investment banking company Prudentia and NASDAQ OMX Riga stock exchange in collaboration with Lursoft IT and business magazine "Kapitals".

 

The value of transport company Kreiss has increased the most – 179% to LVL 75.5 million. Neste Latvija is in second place with 140% increase in the company's value (to LVL 51.3 million), followed by 99% increase in the value of Riga International Airport (LVL 107 million) and joint-stock company Tirdzniecibas osta (LVL 185.5 million).

 

Also, gaming company Admiralu klubs value has increased 76% this year to LVL 42.1 million, and value of Olympic Casino Latvia 61% to LVL 101.2 million. Fuel trader Statoil Fuel&Retail value has increased 66% to LVL 59.4 million.

 

In the meantime, the largest decreases in company value have been observed in wood processing and financial services sectors.

 

The value of Vika Wood sawmill has decreased 37% to LVL 23.1 million, and the value of Latvijas Valsts mezi (Latvian State Forests) – 36% to LVL 313.6 million.

 

The value of UniCredit bank has decreased 33% (to LVL 42.9 million), Trasta komercbanka – 33% (LVL 25.2 million), DNB – 31% (LVL 112.3 million). Likewise, the value of SEB banka has fallen 31% (to LVL 225.7 million), and the value of joint-stock company Expoban (former LTB banka) has decreased 29% to LVL 35.7 million.
