Turnover of enterprises engaged in retail trade and catering in Lithuania decreased by 8.3% in September

Over the month, the turnover of enterprises trading in food products decreased by 12.8, of those engaged in retail trade in automotive fuels – by 7.9, of those trading in non-food products – by 3.4% at constant prices. The largest decrease in turnover was observed for carpets, wall and floor coverings (23.6%) and watches, clocks and jewellery (22.5%), while the largest increase was recorded for retail sale of books (46.6%) in specialised stores.
In September 2013, against September 2012, the turnover (VAT excluded) of retail trade enterprises increased by 4.9% at constant prices (working day adjusted, by 3.9%). The turnover of enterprises trading in food products increased by 4.1, of those engaged in retail trade in automotive fuels – by 6.3, of those trading in non-food products – by 5.1% at constant prices. The largest increase in turnover was observed for retail sale of furniture, lighting equipment and other household articles in specialised stores (by 38.9%), retail sale via mail order houses or via the Internet (11.9%), dispensing chemist's stores (9.1%).
In September 2013, the turnover (VAT excluded) of food and beverage service enterprises amounted to LTL 127.1 million; against August, it decreased by 10.4% at constant prices; against September 2012, it increased by 3% at constant prices.
