The German voice orchestra "SLIXS" will lead a vocal workshop during festival “Rigas Ritmi” Winter concert series on November 30. Workshop will include a meeting with the band members and worthwhile information about body percussion, secrets of virtuoso vocal and vocal groove, informs press service of “Rigas Ritmi”,

The SLIXS are an internationally known vocal groove band, singing a cappella, consisting of six members, one lady and five gentlemen. Artists use just their voices and mouths to create a sound versatile enough to put an orchestra to shame.

Band members (Katharina Debus, Michael Eimann, Gregorio Hernadez, Karsten Muler, Thomas Piontek, Konrad Zeiner) are known for their incredible a cappella performances. A luscious and homogeneous sound, brilliant solistic presentations, amusing moderations and artful compositions make the Slixs a cappella concerts experience that offers unequalled opportunities. The sound of the Slixs – with its whisper, its click of the tongue, its noisy breath, its twitter, its didgeridoo-like voice – has memo and recognition value. Their self created or chosen pieces of music are a true homage to the love of life. “The experience of a cappella groove” – that is probably the most appropriate and coining description of what the unsuspecting listener may expect. What the lady and the five gentlemen are performing onstage cannot be captured by well-established music styles like Pop, Soul, R&B or Jazz.
