The Estonian government approved on Thursday of the new veterans policy that aims to bring the support of the society and state to soldiers who have been on military missions; the policy will also declare April 23 the Veterans Day, LETA/Delfi reports.

"Veterans policy is meant for people who have fought as part of the Estonian defence forces for Estonia or lost their ability to work in service. The Estonian society owes them gratitude," said defence minister Urmas Reinsalu.

Reinsalu said that the veterans policy contains a thoroughly prepared set of measures to acknowledge and support the military that have been on foreign missions.
