Estonian government appoints Sinisalu as KaPo chief

The Estonian government approved at its session on Thursday Arnold Sinisalu as the new director general of the Estonian Security Police (KaPo), LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.
Sinisalu (born in 1970) works for KaPo since 1993. He has worked as deputy director general of KaPo for the past three years. He has graduated from the interior ministry police academy in 1992, Tartu University law department bachelor's degree course in 1999 and doctoral studies there in 2012. The term of office of the current director general of KaPo Raivo Aeg ends on June 15 and he refused the proposal to continue in his job.
The director general of KaPo is appointed for five years by the government at the proposal of the interior minister. Sinisalu's candidacy was also approved by the Riigikogu corresponding committees and president Toomas Hendrik Ilves.
