Mayor of Tallinn gets Orthodox Church order from Russian Patriarch

The Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill handed over the Order of Honour and Fame of the Russian Orthodox Church to mayor of Tallinn Edgar Savisaar on Wednesday in Moscow, for his contribution to building the new Orthodox church in the Lasnamäe city district of Tallinn, LETA/Postimees Online reports.
The Patriarch thanked Savisaar for the warm welcome he experienced during his visit to Estonia in June this year. Savisaar expressed gratefulness over the high award and the attention to the needs of the Orthodox people in Tallinn and the need of building the Orthodox church in Lasnamäe.
The patriarch also ghosted a dinner to Savisaar and famous conductor Valeri Gergijev who also received the order.
