Latvian Ostapenko triumphs at Wimbledon Junior Girls' Championship

Latvian female tennis player Jelena Ostapenko beat Slovakia's Kristina Schmiedlova 2-6, 6-3, 6-0, winning the Wimbledon Junior Championship, informs LETA.

 

This title is the greatest achievement in Latvian tennis history.

 

Previously, Ostapenko had made it to the quarter-finals in "Grand Slam" junior tournaments in 2013 and 2014.

 

At this time, in the adult women's WTA ranking, Ostpaneko is at #484, but in the junior women's table – #24.
