Top three Baltic companies in terms of turnover were Lithuanian in 2006

Three largest Baltic companies in terms of turnover in 2006 were all from Lithuania, the newspaper Dienas Bizness writes today.

 

Mazeikiu nafta registered the largest turnover in 2006, EUR 3.8 billion. The turnover of retail trade company Maxima LT was EUR 1.52 billion, and Koncernas Achemos grupa posted EUR 742.6 million in turnover.

 

The same three companies were also the largest Baltic companies in terms of turnover in 2005.

 

In 2006, Estonia's Hansapank was the fourth largest Baltic company in terms of turnover, Lithuania's Lukoil Baltija was fifth and Eesti Energia sixth.

 

In Latvia, Elko Grupa registered the largest turnover, EUR 469.35 million, and ranked seventh, followed by Rimi Latvia (EUR 439 million) and Latvenergo (EUR 432 million).

 

The turnover of Baltic countries' 300 largest enterprises keeps growing, it reached EUR 40.5 billion in 2006 – 18.8% more than in 2005.

 

Most enterprises on the list of Baltic's 300 largest companies are from Estonia – 110, there also are 103 Lithuanian companies and 87 Latvian companies.
