The Central Election Commission Chairman Arnis Cimdars leaves for the United States today where he will observe the presidential election on November 4, as the Election Commission Information Department head Kristine Berzina told LETA.

Cimdars will visit the United States as a member of the International Foundation for Election Systems (IFES) expert group. During the visit, Cimdars will get acquainted with election management issues in the United States, including voter registration, voting procedure, vote counting and election campaign regulations, as well as observe the election process at Washington polling stations.

Cimdars was invited to observe the presidential election in the United States by the IFES President Jean-Pierre Kingsley.
