Due to the expiration of the term of office, the Government will release from their offices the county governors of the Lääne-Viru County, Jõgeva County, Järva County and of the Rapla County and will appoint the new Viljandi County governor, writes the National Broadcasting/LETA.

Minister of regional affairs Siim-Valmar Kiisler will propose to the Government on Thursday to release from office the four county governors due to the end of their five years’ term of office.

No new candidates for the positions of county governor have as yet been chosen in these counties and therefore the Government will vest the tasks of the county governors to the county secretaries general, in the Jõgeva County, the acting head of the development and planning department of the County Government will fulfil the tasks of the county governor.
