Lithuania has opened its consulate in Mongolia's capital Ulan Bator. The Lithuanian consulate is headed by Honorary Consul of Lithuania Chinbat Khorolsuren.

This is the first Lithuania's representation office in Mongolia, informs LETA/ELTA.

The official opening celebrations took place at the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade on Monday.

The ceremony was attended by Lithuanian Deputy Foreign Minister Sarunas Adomavicius, diplomats residing in Ulan Bator, officers of Mongolia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and MPs.

The first Lithuanian honorary consul is a well-known Mongolian businessman, longtime director of Mongolia's airlines and board chairman at a major electronics corporation.

In 2011, Mongolia and Lithuania will commemorate twenty years of their diplomatic relations.
