Latvian rock group "Livi" member Grodums passes away

Janis Grodums, musician and member of the Latvian rock group "Livi" since 1976, passed away in hospital on Tuesday evening. Grodums was 51 years old.
The musician had been admitted to the Infectology Center around a month ago suffering from hepatitis, informs LETA.
A concert had been planned for Thursday, June 17 in support of the musician, and many Latvian musicians had expressed their wish to take part.
The concert will go ahead, and will take place in Vermanes Park from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. It will be broadcast live on Latvian State Radio 2.
A range of popular groups and musicians will take part, playing not only their own songs, but also songs by "Livi" which were composed or sung by Grodums.
