Lithuanian movie "Amaya" will be available for all Interactive GALA TV clients

TEO LT, the largest provider of integrated telecommunication, IT and TV services in Lithuania, has become the main sponsor of the film "Amaya", directed by Maris Martinsons, TEO LT reports on its web page.
The film, which will premiere in cinemas in September and starring Andrius Mamontovas who composed music for the film, will already this year become available for viewing on TV screens to all users of the digital television Interactive GALA. The film will complement the list of about 1000 entries on the Virtual Video-On-Demand.
TEO continues to support Lithuanian film-makers. The films "Farewell" ("Atsisveikinimas"), "Whisper of Sin" ("Nuodëmës uþkalbëjimas"), "Journey through Lithuania" ("Kelione per Lietuva"), and many other films of the highest artistic and entertainment value by Lithuanian film-makers have already appeared on the list of film projects sponsored by TEO, informs LETA/ELTA.
The film "Amaya" is a large international project, involving filmmakers from Lithuania, Latvia, Japan and Hong Kong. The cult personality of Lithuanian music, film and theatre Andrius Mamontovas played a key role in the film and wrote soundtrack for the film. The film also features Kaori Momoi, a star of the film "Memoirs of Geisha" that has won several Oscars, and famous British actor Dexter Fletcher.
Experts predict similar success for the film "Amaya" as that achieved by "Loss" ("Nereikalingi zmones") directed by M. Martinsons.
At the Shanghai International Film Festivali n 2008, the film was awarded two awards: M. Martinsons received the award for Best Director, and A. Mamontovas – for Best Music.
Filmed in Hong Kong, the film "Amaya" tells about a romantic man Paul, whom, in his wanderings around the world, fate brings together with three women who help him feel the not-yet-experienced meanings of the words "love", "longing," "joy," "farewell" point.
In the film one will see the tattooed Andrius Mamontovas learning the secrets of Eastern massage.
It is planned that before the end of this year "Amaya" will complement the list of Lithuanian cinema works available on the Virtual Video-On-Demand, which currently includes "Zero 2", "Bremen's Last Musicians" ("Paskutiniai Bremeno muzikantai"),"Dance in the Desert" ("Sokis dykumoje”), and many other films. Soon the users of the Interactive GALA digital TV service will also be offered the opportunity to enjoy Tomas Donela's latest film "Farewell" ("Atsisveikinimas") and short films "The Boy and the Sea" ("Berniukas ir jura") and "Harrowed Coast" ("Isaketas coast").
On the Video-On-Demand, film gourmands will find such already legendary films as "Rich Man, Poor Man" ("Turtuolis ir vargsas") directed by Arunas Zebriunas and "An American Tragedy" ("Amerikoniskoji tragedija") directed by Marijonas Giedrys, and many other films.
In November 2009, the Virtual Video-On-Demand offered the concert film of Andrius Mamontovas "Park West Chicago". Recorded in one of the most popular clubs in the United States and spiced up with the views of their more than a month's tour around the United States, the concert has become one of the most popular concert records on the Video-On-Demand. On the Video-On-Demand, music lovers can find the concerts of such music bands as Skamp, Antis, Aiste Smilgeviciute and the band Skyle, as well as Radiocentras Awards concerts, the rock opera "Jurate and Kastytis", and many other videos.
