Other events in Baltic States

On December 17-19 in Riga’s Ķīpsala International Exhibition Centre ( Ķīpsalas ielā 8), one of the world’s biggest dancesport or competitive ballroom dancing festivals – “Baltic Grand Prix 2010”, will take place, in tandem with the junior world championships in Latin American dance, informs liveriga.com.

This popular festival’s main events will be held December 18 at 19:30 and December 19 at 19:00.

• Friday, December 17, get ready for the Rising Star competition Adults Latin and Standard, Seniors Standard and Children’s Group Dance with contestants from over 15 countries.
• Saturday, December 18, it’s the world championship for juniors in Latin dance with 65 pairs from 38 nations vying for the title. Also – competition for the 9th Riga City Council Cup Adults/Standard.
• The grand finale on December 19 will feature traditional cup competition Adults/Latin, and for the very first time – Professional/Standard. Various performances and demonstrations are also on the bill.

Musical accompaniment during “Baltic Grand Prix 2010” will be provided by the Grodna Philharmonic Orchestra.
