Riga Mayor Nils Usakovs, back on the job after lengthy recuperation, got today started by presenting honor awards to municipal and state police officers for a job well done at the Midsummer night celebration events in Riga, informs LETA.

The mayor, along with Vice Mayor Andris Ameriks, also honored the rescue squads who performed valiantly in saving four adults and one child, whose catamaran had capsized July 2 in Riga Kisezers Lake.
