Jörg Tumat elected as new President of German Baltic-Chamber of Commerce in Latvia

Jörg Tumat, the Member of the Management Board and the Vice Chairman of the Management Board of Latvijas Gāze AS, has been elected as new President of the German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce in Latvia.

Jörg Tumat is entrusted with this post at Latvia’s biggest foreign chamber of commerce for a term of three years and follows Bertolt Flick (airBaltic Corporation AS) who completed five years of presidency.

 

“Relations between Latvia and Germany have been traditionally good and are characterized by friendship and close cooperation. It is an honor for me to serve as President of the German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce in Latvia and to continue fostering the economic relations between the two countries via the activities of the chamber which are especially important during current difficult and unstable times”, Jörg Tumat stated on the occasion of his election at the general assembly of the German-Baltic Chamber in Latvia on 21 January 2010 in Riga.

 

Matthias Hinze (Deutsche Lufthansa AG), Jens-Christian Pastille (Rödl & Partner SIA) and Roberts Stafeckis (Audendo SIA) have been elected as new members of the Board of Directors of the German-Baltic Chamber in Latvia. Rudolf Karges (DnB NORD Banka AS) and Ingrīda Ķirse (ERGO Latvija AAS) have been re-elected for a second term, while Jānis Kraulis (Knauf SIA) and Theis Klauberg (bnt Klauberg Krauklis ZAB) are leaving the board together with Bertolt Flick after six years of office.

 

Jörg Tumat has been the Member of the Management Board and the Vice Chairman of the Management Board of Latvijas ze AS since 2006. Prior to his engagement in the Latvian energy company, Tumat has worked in several positions with the German utility E.ON Ruhrgas AG in Essen and Moscow. As of April 2009, he is the Member of the Directors Board of Lietuvos Dujos AB as well.  Since 2006 Tumat is also engaged in the board of the German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce in Latvia.
