The Foreign Ministry's Press and Information Department informed LETA that the Latvian Embassy in Moscow has received an official invitation to the inauguration.
The Russian newspaper Kommersant previously reported that foreign leaders will not be invited to the ceremony, scheduled for May 7. Foreign leaders have not been invited to Russia's presidential inauguration ceremonies since 2000, when Putin became Russia's president. Only diplomatic representatives are invited.
As reported, Putin convincingly won the March 4 presidential elections with 63.6 percent of Russian citizens voting for him.
