It is the first book which comprises all prose works by Blaumanis that he had written in German or translated in German himself. Two of the stories have been published for the first time ever, said Madara Eversone, a representative of the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art under the University of Latvia.

The book has been published as part of the project "Rudolfs Blaumanis. Latvian Stories. A Complete Edition of All Literary Works Translated into German by the Author" financed by the Baltic-German University Liaison Office (Baltisch-Deutsches Hochschulkontor).
