Riga Stradins University admits record-high number of foreign students

This admission is remarkable for RSU as the biggest among all winter semester intakes in terms of candidate applications received, LETA was told at the university. A total of 451 applications from foreigners were received and only the best candidates were admitted for studies at RSU.
There are currently 1,775 foreign students at RSU, accounting for nearly 23 percent of the total number of students.
The foreign students, who started studies at RSU in 2016, represent 20 countries. The geography of students is expanding not only within the EU but also beyond – there are students from Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Singapore, India, Israel and, for the first time, RSU will have a student from New Zealand among its foreign students this year.
Most of foreign students at RSU or 95 percent are from the EU member states. The largest number of students come from Germany. Sweden and Finland.
