Dr. Mark Finlayson to give lecture at the Baltic International Academy in Riga

The Baltic International Academy in Riga is pleased to invite you to a guest talk of Dr. Mark Finlayson of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA, who works "at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Science" (http://www.mit.edu/~markaf/) and who will address the following two issues:

- Interconnection of social-political and cognitive & computational sciences
- Interconnection of linguistics, folklore and cognitive & computational sciences.

The areas of Dr. Mark Finlayson interests are: ·                          

- computer modelling
- computer linguistics                      
- modelling of culture and its influence on cognitive representations
- integration of computer knowledge with social and the humanities sciences 

The talk will take place on 23 January 2014 at 1pm in Room 201 in 1/4 Lomonosova st.
