BC, Vilnius, 21.01.2014.Print version
It is suggested that the companies that produce energy as fuel and are planning to use the waste that is impossible to recycle and that has the energy value should be recognized by the Government as the companies of the national significance in Lithuania, informs LETA/ELTA.

On Tuesday, the Seimas approved to supplement the Law on Waste Management with such amendments.

"The information saying that the business objects are planning to build the waste incineration stations nearly beside every bigger Lithuania's city was not exactly official. There is not such an amount of waste in Lithuania. According to the calculations presented by the Committee of the Environment Protection, 2 or 3 waste incineration stations will be able to serve the entire country," said Chair of the Committee on Environment Protection Algimantas Salamakinas.

73 members of the Seimas supported the initiative, 1 member of the Seimas voted against it and 1 member of the Seimas abstained.
