Spilva plans to conquer at least 1% of Latvian juice market by end-year
In the first two months after the launch of the new products, Spilva plans to sell 400,000 liters of juices and juice drinks.
Spilva has started off by offering six drinks with miscellaneous flavors – apple juice, orange juice, tomato juice, plum nectar, apple-black current nectar, and multi-fruit drink. In near future it more flavors will be added.
The strategic development of Spilva is geared to widening the company's range of products for the Latvian market. Earlier this year Spilva acquired the tea, spices, and food supplements producer Latplanta, expanding the range of products it offers.
As reported, Spilva turnover reached LVL 13.8 million last year – a 13% increase on 2007.
The company also posted LVL 695,920 in profit last year, or 30% less than in 2007, when the company earned LVL 989,102.
LVL 3 million was invested in the development of Spilva in 2008 and the company paid LVL 1,493,352 in taxes.
Last year, 86% of Spilva products were sold on the local market, and the other 14% were exported, mostly to Russia, Estonia and Lithuania.
