The world's largest gold coin was struck at the Royal Canadian Mint last year. There are only five coins of this type in the world, two of which are now in Europe. The golden coin weighs 100 kilograms, it is 50 centimeters in diameter and three centimeters thick.
The coin belongs to the company Jewlers Trade Services Partners/CoinInvestDirect.com.
Latvijas monetu nams invites all people to use the opportunity and to come and see the gold coin, as well as other national and international coin collections that will be exhibited.
The outlet of Latvijas monetu nams will be opened by Finnish enterprise Nordic Moneta Ltd, part of Finnish Mint group. Such outlets already operate in Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Estonia.
Latvijas monetu nams will be the first outlet of such kind in Latvia; it will closely cooperate with the Bank of Latvia selling its jubilee and commemorative coins.
