Tallinn approves of new city budget for 2013

The Tallinn city council approved on Thursday of the 2013 budget of the Estonian capital city that focuses on needs of children, guaranteeing sports facilities and introducing free public transport for the city's residents, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

The total volume of the budget is 488.9 million euros.

 

The total volume of investment projects increases by more than 7% to 68 million euros. Investments in kindergartens grow most, by over two times.

 

31.5 million euros will be used to renovate roads and streets. The largest road construction object, the Ülemiste traffic hub must be completed.

 

The city will increase wages of culture and social workers and public transport workers and kindergarten teachers.
