Lithuania's current account balance exceeds 25 mln litas in September

In September 2013, the deficit of current account balance of Lithuania's balance of payments (CAB) amounted to 25.9 million litas, the Statistics Department of the Bank of Lithuania said in a statement, informs LETA/ELTA.

Major contribution to its build-up stemmed from the widening in trade and income balance deficits.
According to preliminary estimates, in January-September 2013 the CAB recorded a surplus and amounted to 584.6 million litas, or 0.7% of the gross domestic product (GDP), and in twelve months (October 2012 – September 2013) – 1.5 billion litas, or one% of GDP.
