Swedbank concentrates life insurance activities in Baltic states
Danuta Pavilenene, BC, Vilnius, 30.12.2008.Print version
Swedbank will expand its life insurance business in the Baltic states via one company. It is planned to establish headquarters in Estonia and branches of the company operating in Lithuania and Latvia.
Currently, Swedbank owns the largest life insurance company Hansa Gyvybes Draudimas in Lithuania and the largest Estonian life insurance company Hansa Elukindlustuse, which has a branch in Latvia, informs ELTA.
In the light of implementing these changes, it is intended to change the name of the company Hansa Gyvybes Draudimas to Swedbank Gyvybes Draudimas, and transform its legal status from the private limited company to a joint stock company in spring 2009. These changes will not affect clients in any way: all agreements, rights and duties will remain the same.
