“The decision to build a new logistics center was motivated by business logics and by business expansion pursued in Estonia in recent years. The new center will make the expansion of operations much more efficient as it will ensure an effective supply chain and will help speed up the supply of goods to shops,” the group’s CEO, Neringa Janaviciute, said in a press release on Monday.
The new center was the group’s top expansion project last year, she said.
The 45,000 square meter logistics center, which is located in Kurna, close to Tallinn, employs a workforce of 350. The center was built by Estonia’s building firm Rand ja Tuulberg.
Maxima Grupe operates 535 stores, including 233 stores in Lithuania, 148 stores in Latvia, 75 stores in Estonia, 48 stores in Bulgaria and 31 stores in Poland.
