As of last fall, the company has received several enquiries regarding building houses for refugees. By now, the company has built 34 such houses, but is planning to build around 100 houses a month for the next 4-5 years which amounts to around 5,000 houses, a member of the board of Akso-Haus, Andres Samaruutel, told the newspaper.
He added that to execute the large orders the company has to take into use the 7,500-square-meter building next to its 2,500-square-meter production facility. The number of employees constructing modular houses would rise from 60 to 150.
A finished house is loaded onto a trailer and taken to the port where it is loaded onto a ship that takes it to Germany, Samaruutel said.
