„In the summer season, we perform most of our
flights in Europe. However, in winter we face a challenging question of how to
utilize all the fleet of 21 aircraft. Asia
came as the best answer because it has a reverse seasonality and its holiday
market is growing rapidly. We are glad that in four years we managed to expand
our partnerships and offer new destinations”, said Vytautas Kaikaris, CEO of
the Small Planet Group.
As for today Small Planet Airlines has two offices
in Cambodia, one in the capital Phnom Penh and the second in Siem Reap which
also acts as the base airport. Together with partners Sky Angkor and Cambodia
Angkor Air, the company is performing domestic flights in Cambodia as well as
flying passengers to China, South Korea and Vietnam. In winter season 2016, two
Airbus A320 aircraft will be operating from Cambodian base.
Two more A320s have been sent to India’s base
Mumbai to perform domestic flights in cooperation with the low-cost carrier Go
Air.
Saudi Arabian city Jeddah bases two Airbus A321 aircraft
and one A320. Here Small Planet Airlines works together with Nesma Airlines, operating
domestic routes from Jeddah to Ha’il, Riyadh, and Dammam.
As for the European market, Canary Islands,
Dubai, Egypt, and skiing resorts remain among the main Small Planet Airlines winter
destinations. Currently Small Planet Airlines operates a fleet of 21 Airbus-only
aircraft and flies from 11 bases in Europe. The 12th base in the Amsterdam Airport
Schiphol will be opened by the end of December this year.
