Retail trade turnover in Latvia grew by 5.7% in Q3

Compared to August, total retail trade turnover (according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices) in September 2011 grew by 0.9%, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau. Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2011, the retail trade turnover in the 3rd quarter of 2011 has grown by 5.7%.

Retail trade in food products has increased by 0.2%, but retail trade in non-food products has grown by 1.3 %.

In comparison with September 2010, total retail trade turnover in September 2011 has risen by 8.1%, according to calendar adjusted data (calculating at constant prices). The increase in food commodity group comprises 2.5%. But retail trade in non-food products has grown by 10.7% (excluding retail sale of automotive fuel), the volume growth in this commodity group constitutes 16.5%.

Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2011, the retail trade turnover in the 3rd quarter of 2011 has grown by 5.7%, according to seasonally adjusted data (at constant prices), of which in enterprises selling mainly food products by 4%, but in enterprises selling mainly non-food products – by 6.5%.

 

In comparison with the 3rd quarter of 2010, the turnover has grown by 7.5%, according to calendar adjusted data.  Retail trade in food products increased by 2.5%, but retail trade in non-food products has risen by 10.1%.
