Joint-stock confectionery Laima has invested more than LVL 30,000 in its latest Christmas production designs and intends to increase its export by 34% during Christmas, Nozare.lv was informed by NP Foods Export Department head Ieva Jonsone.

"Each year the company creates a special collection of Christmas products that matches the current consumer wants. This year, Laima emphasizes chocolate candies with Riga Black Balsam, gingerbread and selected sweets. These products will have a new Christmas design concept – seemingly knitted textures. Each Christmas design is different from the previous one. The company's strategy is to match the society's mood and offer consumers various product groups with a unified design," said Jonsone.

The new concept will apply to "Prozit" and "Fantazija" candies, dark chocolate candies with Riga Black Balsam, as well as various chocolate bars, cookies and gingerbread products, writes LETA.

This year, Laima, alongside its traditional gingerbread, also offers gingerbread biscuits, figurines and soft gingerbread. The company has expanded its product range since consumer wants have increased, however, consumers now are also more selective and careful with their purchases.

During Christmas, Laima plans to increase its sales in the Baltic states, Russia, Germany, the United States, and Israel by 300 tons. The company also intends to increase its production volume by 1,300 tons, which is six% more than in the corresponding period last year, pointed out Jonsone.
