Samsung and Estonian Elion signed an agreement on creation of a digibox-free TV application

Samsung Electronics and Estonian communications company Elion signed last weekend in Riga a preliminary agreement, according to which Samsung will develop a Smart TV application that enables to use digital television (IPTV) services and content without a digibox, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

The application will be developed during 2012 and it should considerably change the market of tele-services in Estonia and elsewhere in the world since it will enable to use all interactive TV functions without having to connect a digibox to the TV set.
Currently this solution is not offered in any market. The agreement was signed by Elion's manager Arti Ots and Samsung Electronics Central European unit president and CEO Boo-Keun Yoon.
