25 Estonian private investors founded last week a non-profit organisation the Estonian Business Angels Network or EstBAN that aims to increase the so-called seed investments volume made in start-up companies in Estonia, LETA/Postimees Online reports.
The board of the new alliance includes Ivar Siimar, Allan Martinson, Marek Kiisa, Peeter Klanberg, Andrei Korobeinik, Hardi Kampus and Harri Männistö.
"Similar associations of business angels exist in all developed states. Their aim is to join the forces of private investors to increase the volume and quality of investments. We wish to develop thus Estonian knowledge-based economy and exports," said one of the initiators of the alliance Ivar Siimar.
EstBAN estimates that the early phase investment volume is in Estonia this year around 1 million euros.
EstBAN's aim is to increase the volume of angel investments made in Estonia five times by 2015.
