After the power planted started operation, the price of heating for local inhabitants of Vievis diminished by 20%; they would also pay less for the hot water.

Before, the price of heating was the most expensive in Vievis as compared to other places in Lithuania. In January, the tariff totaled 31.74 cents/KWh. Starting from February, the price of heating is supposed to come down by 20%. The new co-generation plant would satisfy the needs of approximately a third of the inhabitants of the town.

"It is a good example of how intelligent use of the gas is advantageous for people", said Arturas Zuokas, the Mayor of Vilnius, at his visit to Vievis-based co-generation plant.

The co-generation plant is situated a site of Lithuanian enterprise Vievo Silumos Tinklai.
