Lithuania Post makes its contribution to the project Pirk dramblį (Buy an Elephant) and invites all citizens of Lithuania to support inhabitants of the Lithuanian Zoo by obtaining special postcards. Part of funds raised will be transferred to the Zoo of Lithuania, informed BC the press service of the post.

“Sending of postcards is an inseparable part of Lithuania Post’s activities. When joining this project we had an aim not only to help the inhabitants of the Zoo living in unfavourable conditions but also to remind the citizens of pleasure to receive a handwritten letter or postcard. Winter holidays are approaching, let’s surprise friends and relatives by sending warm greetings,” Lithuania Post’s Head of Marketing and Communication Department Rasa Kruopaitė-Lalienė said.

All in all, Lithuania Post has issued 5 different postcards featuring the main heroes of the project Pirk dramblį: the female donkey Roza, the female pygmy hippopotamus Coliukė, the tufted capuchin Muntis, the amur tiger Edas, and the female Grant's zebra Audra.

The postcards are available for purchase at post offices. 50 centas of each sold postcard will be transferred to the account of the Zoo of Lithuania. The raised funds will be used for measures improving health and living conditions of the animals and other essential needs.
