Talsi Region council chairman ousted

Print versionBy a council majority vote this afternoon, Talsi Region (Western Latvia) Chairman Miervaldis Krotovs (Greens/Farmers Union) was released from office, informs LETA.

The motion to remove Krotovs came from six opposition council members regarding the situation with the Stendes nami company.
Due to significant debt, the company’s buildings in all of Stende are on the brink of having electricity cut off which in turn would also cut off water supply. The six council members pointed out that Krotovs knew about this crisis but failed to act.
