Mykolas Romeris University has published a book containing translations of the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania into thirteen languages, informs LETA/ELTA.

The Constitution was translated into English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Estonian, Latvian, Polish, Czech, Russian, Chinese Mandarin, Japanese and Korean. Translations into Chinese, Japanese and Korean are published for the first time.

The foreword was written by Prof. Dr. Juozas Zilys of MRU Faculty of Law Institute of Constitutional and Administrative Law.

Director of MRU Constitutional and Administrative Law Milda Vainiute said that the foreword was also translated into thirteen languages. Therefore, the readers are not only introduced to the main law of the state, but they can also learn about the main stages of the state's constitutionalism.

Vainiute noted that with the expanding Lithuania's and university's connections with the world it was decided to translate the Constitution not only into languages of neighbouring and European countries, but into Chinsese, Japanese and Korean as well.

The university plans to publish Lithuanian Constitution in other languages in the future, for example in Arabic.

The book is devoted to everyone who is interested in current Lithuanian Constitution and development of constitutionalism in Lithuania, first of all it is for foreign scholars, researchers, politicians and other readers.
