Rebroadcast of Ren TV Baltic Lithuania's shows temporarily suspended

Print versionUnder this decision, all rebroadcasters, which retransmit Ren TV Baltic in the Republic of Lithuania will be temporarily (for 3 months) prohibited from rebroadcasting programmes of this channel which were produced not in the European Union, the European Economic Area or countries that signed the European Convention on Transfrontier Television, informs LETA/ELTA.

The court's ruling comes into force next day after its publication in Lithuania's Register of Legal Acts.
Last year, the LRTK launched an investigation into Ren TV Baltic (Lietuva), a Russian TV channel which is broadcast in Lithuania but falls under the United Kingdom's jurisdiction, over dissemination of possibly impermissible information. A recording of the show A Territory of Misconceptions was transferred for assessment by independent experts.
