The Competition Council (CC) has established a cartel agreement between the egg and egg product producer companies Balticovo, Madona and Daugavpils putni, and decided to fine these companies LVL 109,164 altogether, as the Competition Council's public relations officer Inita Kabanova told the business portal Nozare.lv.

For ongoing exchange of information and liquidation of competition, Balticovo, Latvia's largest egg and egg product producer, was fined LVL 91,659, Madona – LVL 11,448, whilst Daugavpils putni was fined LVL 6,055.

The CC has determined that these companies have exchanged information on their operations, the production of eggs and their distribution in Latvia and abroad.

The Competition Council also has other evidence providing the existence of the cartel.
