Varis Toys creator Maris Peics included among world's top toy designers

Varis construction sets, designed by Latvian Maris Peics, are now placed among such well-known and loved toys and games as "Lego" bricks, "Barbie" dolls, "Teddy Bear" plush toys, "Playmobil" toys, the "Settlers of Catan" board game, "Nintendo Game Boy" game consoles, Rubik's Cubes and many others, said Tirele.
The book 'Toy Design" is published by Braun Publishing AG, and was written by architect Chris van Uffelen, writes LETA.
The book presents the world's current 115 top toys, based on uniqueness of design, product quality, and historical development (toys with long traditions and history), indicated Tirele.
The origins of Varis Toys go back to the founding of the company Saime in 1988. At that time, "Saime" produced various wood products for export to Denmark, Germany and Finland.
In 2000, the company changed its name to Varis Toys and devoted its activity to the production of wooden toys. All products are sold with the trademark Varis.
The company has received several awards in both Germany and Latvia.
