Stenders to begin exporting to Colombia and Saudi Arabia in 2010

Latvian cosmetics and soap manufacturer Stenders Soap Factory (Stenders) plans to expand its export market in 2010, and will begin exporting its products to Colombia and Saudi Arabia, the company's director Janis Berzins told the business information portal Nozare.lv.

''We have already opened up our first store in Colombia, and we plan to begin exporting to Saudi Arabia. Discussions are also taking place tot export our products to Panama,'' said Berzins, who pointed out that the company exports 70% of the products it manufactures.

 

Last year, Stenders opened up nine new stores abroad – in Slovenia, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Austria, Hungary, Sweden and China. ''At the moment we are putting our emphasis on the territories where we have already opened up shops, which has taken a lot of work. Two of our main territories are Russia and China,'' Berzins admitted.

 

As reported, Stenders achieved LVL 3.25 million in turnover last year, which was nine percent less when compared to 2008, writes LETA.

 

The company's profit report for 2009 has yet to be published, however, in 2008, the company earned LVL 200,004 in profit, but n 2007 – LVL 558,243 in profit.

 

Stenders Soap Factory was founded in 2001 and produces bath and body cosmetics. Stenders has developed a network of 180 stores in more than 15 countries around the world, including China, Japan, Finland, Poland, Russia, Sweden, and Hungary and others.
